Recently I’ve been looking at coding my own iPhone apps. I spent hours looking through Google for an easy guide or some sort of tool to help me out but I couldn’t find a thing! Luckily I have a friend who codes his own applications and makes a decent amount of money from it. He was telling me that last year he made an alarm clock and priced it at $1 on the app store. He didn’t think anyone would buy it but a few months later he got a cheque from Apple for $7900 which he had earned through selling the app! This really got me motivated to do something similar and see if I could come up with some sort of app that I could sell. I was perhaps thinking of something simple e.g. a scientific calculator or other simple but effective tool!
I’ve linked the website here if anyone is interested and fancies giving it a try themselves!

I’ll leave you with this little screenshot to get your taste bud’s going! This is how much they made over December by selling 3 applications!

Many things have been said about the upcoming iPhone 5, there is no official word that this iPhone 5 will be released this year but the speculations are high. There have been rumours that the iPhone 5 will be launched in June this year causing waves of interest across the globe! This only makes consumers hungry for more information and gives them high expectations.

Apple is known for their innovations, the SIRI was proof of this. When Apple introduced Siri into the iPhone 4s it pushed smart phones into a whole new era of technology. Apple is now expected to bring something new to the table with every iPhone, raising the bar for smart phones. Below are some of the most talked about features expected to come with the new iPhone 5.

iPhone 5 – New Shape/Design.

There are speculations that the shape of the new upcoming iPhone 5 will be different. We’ve heard from various reliable sources that the new iPhone 5 models that have been developed have slightly different body shapes than the earlier generation iPhones. A few months ago there was a rumour that the iPhone 5 would be a teardrop shape, but as time has gone by this is looking less likely.

iPhone 5 – New & larger screen.

As well as the rumours of a new design there has been hard solid evidence that the iPhone 5 will be getting a new screen. The earlier generation of iPhone had a 3.5inch screen, the iPhone 5 is rumoured to feature a 4 inch screen which may not seem like a lot but I guarantee it will make a huge difference.

iPhone 5 – Thinner Battery.

A lot of people who have used the iPhone 4 have complained about its weight and thickness, rumours have now surfaced that Apple might manufacture a battery that is much thinner and smaller than the one used in today’s iPhone. This should hopefully make both the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 thinner & lighter.

I think it’s quite safe to say following past Apple trends that 2012 will bare witness to the release of Apple’s sixth generation of smart phone. There is a very high possibility that it will be called the iPhone 5 though as It wouldn’t be smart to change their version structure.

The reason I say the iPhone might be held back until as late as 2014 is because Apple have a tendency of releasing a refreshed model of the iPhone 6 every other year! This could possibly mean 2012 will hold release to the iPhone 5 and 2013 will probably welcome the refresh version of the iPhone 5. I really can’t see Apple missing out on this great marketing stunt as if they switch straight over to the iPhone 6 they will miss out on a lot of money!

As always though – iPhone6Source will be there to keep you updated with the latest iPhone 6 news and gossip on the net!

Word on the rumor mill is that Apple are set to release the iPhone 5 for October 2012, 1 year after the release of the 4s. Google’s Android is currently in second place expected to overtake Apple’s iPhone market share later this year. This will put Apple on the defensive and if there is a time to release something spectacular now is that time!

Potential Features

Edge to Edge Screen: They may finally scrap the home button which would allow for an entire front face screen. The possibilities are endless, they could perhaps integrate the button into the touch display itself.

Wireless Charging: There maybe no need for cabling soon, research is under way and almost complete on inductive charging. This is where you would lay the iPhone on a charge mat to charge the battery. iOS 5 enabled data sharing over the air so it look’s like Apple are taking a step in the right direction.

More Memory: The App store is only getting bigger & Apple will need to compete with Android so expect to see 64gb and 128gb versions of the iPhone.

Better Camera: The iPhone 4s boasts a new and impressive 1080p 8mega pixel camera. Will the iPhone 5 be the first to break the 10 million pixel threshold?

It’s all been quiet on the iPhone 5 & iPhone 6 front since the death of Steve Job’s but there are rumours circulating that the iPhone 5′s successor, the iPhone 6 will feature a curved screen. A lot of very trust worthy sources have suggested that this is very likely and that it’s one of the hottest and most likely rumours on the market yet.

Rumour has it that Apple recently contacted lens technology companies Fuji Crystal and G-Tech to supply them with the correct machinery to polish the curved glass. Apple have allegedly placed an order for 200-300 glass cutting machines which have a specialization of cutting curved screens.

If Apple do introduce a curved screen like suggested above, this could potentially make the iPhone 6 a much comfier and enjoyable phone to use. Another expert suggested that due to the screen being arched in the middle this would make the phone much more resilient to being scratched and cracked.

Well it appears Apple have done it again with the new ‘Siri’ feature for the iPhone 4s. I’m sure we’ll be seeing an even more advanced version of this feature in the upcoming iPhone 5 and iPhone 6.

What is Siri?

Siri is a built in voice controlled assistant for the iPhone 4s. Basically the idea is to offer you a way of interacting with your phone hand’s free, rather than having you tap away at the keypad. This is great for when you’re out running; in traffic or have your hands full! You can do a list of things with it e.g. change songs, write texts, write e-mail, check the traffic conditions; surf the web, the list is endless. I’ve included a small list of supported apps below.

Supported App’s

• Phone – Calling and receiving.
• FaceTime – Calling and receiving.
• iMusic.
• iMessages & normal messaging.
• iMail.
• Contacts.
• Reminders.
• Notes.
• Calendar.
• Weather.
• Web Search (Google, Safari, Maps).
• Find My Friends.
• Alarm, Timer and World Clock.
• Wikipedia.

Quite recently a highly legitimate source (Forbes) claimed that the iPhone 6 has been rumoured to feature a quad-core processor. The quad-core processor has an incredible amount of power behind it and would put the iPhone 6 in good position against future Android smartphones who are also looking at processor upgrades.

If the iPhone 6 were to use a quad-core processor it would open the door to an ample of new features. The phones speed would be greatly increased which in return would improve the phones multi-tasking features & audio/video playback. Hopefully these will open door’s to modifications on the iPhone 6′s graphics chip which would allow room for better gaming capabilities. This would certainly be a step in the right direction for apple.

With rumours already circulating that the future Android phones will feature quad core processors Apple will really have to bring their A game to stand a chance against future Android models.

Recent rumours have suggested that the new iPhone 6 could be totally cord free. According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple has been experimenting with various techniques for charging the iPhone.

There is evidence that other phones in the industry have been experimenting with inductive charging. This is where the device uses an electromagnetic field to transfer energy between two objects. Energy would be sent through inductive coupling to an electrical device which would then charge the battery wirelessly.

It’s only a matter of time before other devices start using this technology which will only force Apple to follow in their footsteps.

There is also other evidence that supports our argument that Apple is moving toward better wireless technology. At the Worldwide Developers Conference they promised the new ‘iOS 5′ will feature wireless updates & transfers meaning users will no longer be required to connect to iTunes to get the latest updates or firmware fixes.

This week many Apple fan’s prepared for the arrival of the iPhone 5 but were dissapointed to learn that Apple had a little trick up their sleeves. Rather than releasing the iPhone 5 they have decided to release a newer version of the iPhone 4 – the iPhone 4s, similar to what they did with the iPhone 3g.

The new iPhone 4s has quite a few fancy features, it has a much faster processor, a new camera that supports 1080p recording and improved storage. The biggest feature has to be the new ‘Siri’ feature, this is a new built in voice activated personal assistant. There is too much to cover on this new feature, so we’ll touch on it a little later this month in our next feature.

While I’m quite sure people are going to love the iPhone 4s I’m sure they’ll be a little upset to find out this is the newest release and were still yet to see the iPhone 5. I can personally see Siri becoming very popular and making an appearance on the iPhone 5 and iPhone 6.

New’s has hit the market that Gorilla Glass are coming out with version 2 of their glass at the Consumer Electronics show later this year. Hopefully this time it will more durable as the most common problem with the iPhone is cracked or broken screens. If all goes well and Gorilla Glass 2 is release at the upcoming CES, Apple stand in good stead for using it in their upcoming iPhone 5.

As I said earlier in this article, the iPhone 4 & 4s used Gorilla Glass 1.0 which the tech world and been ranting and raving about. It was the material that was supposed to be unbreakable. True to their word, it was tougher than ordinary glass but unfortunately it wasn’t able to handle fall’s and hard knocks very well. If you go to YouTube there are plenty of video’s that demonstrate that Gorilla glass is breakable.
